Mallori is one of our newest Pivoteers! She is a recent Dalhousie MBA graduate with an impressive variety of experience and training who is passionate about engaging in work that makes a difference.
Originally from Henniker, New Hampshire, Mallori moved to Nova Scotia in 2013 to attend St. Francis Xavier University. At StFX, she pursued a double major in International Development Studies and Spanish. She also studied abroad in Argentina for a semester.
After graduating from StFX, Mallori completed her MBA at Dalhousie University. She was attracted to Dalhousie’s Corporate Residency MBA program because it welcomes students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. Through the 8-month Corporate Residency portion of the MBA program, Mallori worked at BDO as part of their Strategy & Operations and Indigenous Advisory service lines. She was involved in writing reports and business plans for small businesses and Indigenous communities.
Mallori knew when she graduated from Dalhousie that she wanted a career where she would be engaging in positive, impactful work. She joined Pivot in July 2019.
Mallori brings a unique perspective to her work at Pivot. She has been involved in a variety of projects across different areas, including with start-ups, Indigenous communities, grassroots organizing, and the public sector. She developed a unique blend of skills and way of thinking from pairing a Bachelor of Arts degree with an MBA, and she sees her approach to problem solving as creative and holistic. “I’m able to view an issue from all perspectives and think critically about how decisions on my projects would impact all stakeholders.”
Since joining Pivot, Mallori describes the work as challenging, and she finds the atmosphere very collaborative. “Everyone here is supportive and encouraging, and always there to help. I’m constantly learning and I’m excited to have started my career here.” And Pivot is excited to have you as a fellow Pivoteer Mallori!
